Enter the competition

By submitting an entry to the 2023 Ageing and Living Well in Clunes photographic competition you agree to the following conditions:

Section A – General

• Entries open at noon on Tuesday 3 October and close at 3pm Tuesday 7 November 2023.

• Entry is free.

• Prizes will be given for photographs judged First ($250), Second ($150) and Third ($50).

• The image must be the original work of the entrant and address the theme: Ageing and Living Well in Clunes.

• Colour photographs only.

• One class only, open to all ages.

• All entrants are to submit both a digital image and hard copy display print in accordance with the specifications set out in Section B.

• Each entry is to be submitted individually.

• By entering the competition, entrants agree that each submitted digital image and hard copy display copy print can be used by Attitude: Ageing Well in Clunes (Attitude).

  • Attitude respects photographers’ copyrights and undertakes to credit the photographer where practicable wherever the image is used.

  • Uses may include promotion of the Ageing and Living Well in Clunes photographic competition (including any future such competitions), in our ‘What’s on in Clunes’ guide and promotion of Attitude and its associated activities in marketing and editorial (including web and social media), brochures, banners and funding submissions.

  • Attitude asks entrants to inform anyone featured in their photographic entry of the possible use of their image in our promotional activities.

• Collages and grouped entries will not be accepted.

• Attitude reserves the right to disqualify any entry that is deemed inappropriate or does not conform to the competition rules.

• A judge appointed by Attitude will select the prize winners. All decisions are final.

• The prize winners will be announced at 10am at the at the ‘Have you thought about?’ pavilion at the Clunes and District Agricultural Show on Saturday 18 November 2023 (Show Day) and all entrants will be notified by email the following week. 

• All valid entries will be displayed at the ‘Have you thought about?’ pavilion on Show Day.

Section B – Specifications

Both a digital image file and hard copy display print must be submitted for an entry to be deemed valid.

1. Digital Specifications

• Email with digital file attached to be submitted to attitude.clunes@outlook.com setting out:

  • Full name of entrant

  • Phone number

  • Digital file attached, file name to include entrant’s name.

• Digital file to be submitted as JPEG (.jpeg) or TIFF file (.tiff)

• Digital file size:

  • Minimum 1748 Pixels x 2480 Pixels @ 150 ppi

  • Maximum 2480 Pixels x 3508 Pixels @ 300 ppi 24.9Meg size WHEN OPENED in photoshop (or similar photo editing program).

2. Hard Copy Display Print Specifications

• Each print to be held firmly to unbendable A4 cardboard using double-sided mounting tape.

• Print to be submitted at Boom, 28 Fraser Street, Clunes, during normal business hours prior to competition closure.

  • Hard copy display print to be enclosed in envelope.

  • Full name, phone number and email of entrant to be clearly printed on front of envelope.
